Vincentius R. Kenswil
Managing Director

Vincentius Roué Kenswil, a.k.a.Vincent, successfully earned his Civil Engineering degree at the Anton de Kom University. Little would he know that life had other plans with him. In the late nineties internet was introduced in Surinam and Vincent, still an intern back then, saw the major opportunities.

He taught himself in HTML and founded in 2001 one of the first professional webdeveloping companies in Surinam: Cybermango. Eager to do more with the ICT talent in Suriname, he searched and found a businesspartner in Us Media. The idea of Spang Makandra was born.

Vincent sets high standards for Spang Makandra. He wants it to be one of the best ICT companies, both in Suriname as abroad!

joel

Joël Wijngaarde
Founding Partner

Joël probably has the most unlikely background for someone as specialized in interactive media as he is: he was educated to be a theoretical physicist. In 1997, together with Martijn van Meel and Casper van Schie, he started Us Media, which is now one of the most succesful Dutch interactive agencies. Part of Joel's roots lie in Suriname and the drive to give something back to this beautiful country made him one of the people to start Spang Makandra. It's a job he loves to do. And it shows.

Jean-luc van Charante

Jean-luc van Charante
Account Director for SpangSocial

Jean-luc van Charante, born and raised in Suriname, returned to his beloved country after completing his studies in Europe. With his expertise in Leisure Studies (MSc.) and European Urban Cultures (MA.), Jean-luc's goal is to find a fit between Western knowledge and Latin American/Caribbean culture, which can be used for tourism and urban development in Suriname.

With his interest in branding Suriname as a top tourism destination worldwide, Jean-luc sees the power of social media as an opportunity to expose Suriname to the world. He therefore joined our team to setup SpangSocial, a social media outsourcing counterpart of Spang, in order to contribute to the social media presence of Suriname across the globe.

The ICT business is very dynamic. Constant movement demands constant development. We at Spang Makandra acknowledge that. And we do something about it every day.
