In a relatively short time the most promising ICT Talents of Suriname were trained to become ICT professionals. These professionals now make up the team behind Spang Makandra ICT Media Studio. Everything they learned in their training, they use in their daily work for some of the top companies in Suriname and Europe.
They were trained to create, develop and maintain creative and effective ICT and communications solutions. And that is exactly what they do and what they are very passionate about.

With high quality trained professionals in ICT, Suriname becomes an interesting business partner for companies operating in the region. And for Dutch founding partner Us Media, with its high profile ICT-portfolio, Spang Makandra offers all kinds of opportunities to keep developing creative ICT solutions.
The Suriname education system is quality oriented and there's a strong focus on technical skills. Surinamese students can read and speak Dutch and English, which makes them very interesting for international companies around the globe. Trained by experienced staff from the Netherlands, Surinamese professionals can gain a competitive edge within the Caribbean and South-American region.
Seeing that bright future, Cybermango and Us Media joined forces and started Spang Makandra Studio N.V. in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. At Spang Makandra, young talent receives high quality training and education in ICT – ranging from programming in different software-languages to software-design and creative design.
They were also trained in basic operational skills, such as project management and administration. Several social activities, such as company cook-outs and parties makes working at Spang fun on even more levels. At Spang Makandra we love to see people grow as professionals and as human beings.
Spang Makandra started in September 2007 with a selection of 18 highly talented students, chosen from over 200 candidates who applied for the training in the summer of 2007.
The first Spang Makandra class graduated in 2008 and 9 of the graduates were offered employment at Spang Makandra's ICT Media Studio. All participants received a Spang Makandra Certificate, proving their skills and capabilities as ICT-professionals. |
