Breathtaking views combined with deafening noise.That's the best description for the Afobakka power plant in Brokopondo.

Only few of us at Spang had ever been to Suriname's only power plant, so we had every reason to be curious. After a 90 minutes long trip we arrived at our destination.

Highly skilled Suralco employees gave us detailed information about the history, construction,
operation and maintenance of the power plant and also what the future has in store.

During the guided tour we were all provided by ear plugs (because the noise is unbearable!), safety glasses and safety caps. All the tools necessary to prevent possible injuries.

All in all it was one of the most interesting places we've been to.

The day wasn't over yet, because afterwards we headed straight for Anani beach .........................
